Mom Accused of Tossing Sons Into River Charged
A woman was charged with murder and attempted murder for allegedly throwing her twin sons into the Mississippi River on the Fourth of July. One toddler died; the other was rescued.
Naomi Gaines, 24, kissed the 14-month-old boys before throwing them into the river, prosecutors said, adding that she then jumped off a St. Paul bridge.
She was charged in the death of Sincere Understanding Allah, and in the attempted murder of Supreme Knowledge Allah, who was pulled from the river by the same person who saved Gaines.
Bail was set at $500,000. .
