Watering Holes

Re “Battle for Scarce Desert Water Proves Deadly to Joshua Trees,” July 7: Perhaps the caretakers of Joshua Tree National Park could provide man-made watering holes, randomly spaced so that critters could have water and not tear up the trees for moisture. Opossums and birds drank from my pool all the time. If you provide it, they will find it.
