Police Search for Girl, 12, and Ex-U.S. Marine
A 12-year-old English girl has disappeared with a 31-year-old American she is believed to have met on the Internet, police said.
Toby Studabaker, who was discharged from the U.S. Marines two weeks ago, had been traced as far as Charles de Gaulle airport outside Paris. Police said he was with Shevaun Pennington.
In the United States, a sister-in-law of Studabaker said he flew to Britain on Friday to meet a 19-year-old he had been e-mailing, according to the Kalamazoo Gazette in Michigan. Sherry Studabaker said the girl was supposed to be an adult. She said her brother-in-law lost his wife, Jenny, a year ago to cancer.
Shevaun’s parents reported her missing Saturday.
