Trade Center Memorial Design Entries Pour In
From Times Wire Reports
Officials said 5,200 entries were received in the competition to design a memorial at the World Trade Center site, making it the most contested design competition.
The Lower Manhattan Development Corp., which is coordinating the reconstruction, said the competition included entries from 62 nations and 49 U.S. states.
The memorial will honor victims of both the 1993 bombing at the World Trade Center and the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
