TV Ad Questions Bush’s Claims of Iraqi Threat

The ad shows Bush saying in his State of the Union address, “Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.” The ad goes on to say, “But now we find out it wasn’t true.”
Republicans warned broadcasters not to air the ad, calling it “deliberately false and misleading.” Some have argued Bush’s statement was technically accurate because it attributed the uranium claim to the British.
