Fox Makes First Staffing Change Since Elections
President Vicente Fox’s spokesman, Rodolfo Elizondo, was named Mexico’s tourism secretary, replacing Leticia Navarro, in the first significant change in the administration since Fox’s party suffered setbacks in this month’s elections. Navarro said she had resigned for “strictly personal reasons.”
Fox’s private secretary, Alfonso Durazo, will add media relations to his other jobs.
Voters have expressed frustration with Fox, who promised changes when he defeated the long-ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party in 2000.
