Motorcycle fantasy on film

I loved “Not-so-Rough Riders,” by Susan Carpenter (July 17). So true about women and motorcycles in films. I was “talent” for the Lenny Kravitz video for the song “American Woman.” They had me in a bikini top, leather pants, no helmet, just sunglasses in a sandstorm at sunset in 30-degree weather riding my motorcycle through the desert. I had to spin out, get loopy, pop a little wheelie on my heavy Harley, all of which ended up on the cutting room floor. They had four other women sitting on bikes positioned on the back of this tow truck with only the rear wheels of the bikes touching the ground. They were revving the engines, taking their hands off the throttle and running their fingers through their hair while miraculously maintaining speed, looking at each other while going straight ahead. You get the picture. They were doing the impossible. But hey, that’s show biz.
