Officials announced another death and 10 more SARS cases in Canada’s largest city Monday and said they would review how they handled a renewed outbreak of the flu-like illness after accusations that warnings were ignored.

China reported no new cases of SARS on Monday, for the first time since April, while Taiwan reported only one new case today, the lowest since the island’s first hospital outbreak erupted in late April.

The global death toll from SARS rose to at least 772 on Monday, with 32 in Toronto.

Calls for a public inquiry in Canada came after nurses accused hospital officials of ignoring warnings of Toronto’s latest outbreak. Ontario officials agreed to take a look but said it should not be a formal inquiry to assess blame.
