An accountant for the Chateau Marmont hotel pleaded guilty Wednesday to embezzling nearly $14 million from the West Hollywood establishment over six years, authorities said.
Kelly Timothy Ebert, 39, of Westlake Village faces 20 years in federal prison when he is sentenced Aug. 11 on two counts of wire fraud, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Gregory Weingart.
Ebert is being held without bond.
He was hired as the hotel’s controller in 1993, according to prosecutors, and did not tell his bosses that he had been convicted of forgery in Colorado six years earlier.
