Last call: In what his management is billing as his last public appearance, James Arness, the star of TV’s long-running “Gunsmoke” series, will be signing copies of his autobiography at L.A.’s Autry Museum of Western Heritage on Saturday (10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.). Arness turned 80 on May 26 and is retiring, his reps explained.
