SPARKS TONIGHT

Share

vs. Minnesota, 7:30

Site -- Staples Center.

Radio -- KPLS (830).

Records -- Sparks 6-0, Lynx 3-2.

Record vs. Lynx -- 1-0.

Update -- Nicky McCrimmon has two of the faster defensive hands in the WNBA. The reserve guard was fifth on the team in steals last year with 22, even though she averaged only 11 minutes a game. Last year, she twice swiped the ball from then-Seattle rookie star Sue Bird, and did the same thing Saturday against Sacramento rookie Kara Lawson. It will be an interesting duel, should McCrimmon get a chance to guard five-time Olympian Teresa Edwards, the 38-year-old point guard who is averaging 6.6 points and 3.4 assists in her first WNBA season. As of Monday, Latasha Byears had not rejoined the Sparks. She is dealing with what team officials term “a personal matter.”
