$10 Million Sought for the Loss of a Fingertip
From Times Wire Reports
A South African tourist sued New York City’s transit authority for $10 million, alleging a conductor slammed a subway train window on his finger when he asked if he was on the right train.
The conductor sheared off the tip of an index finger of retired telecommunications engineer Pieter Swanepoel, 62, when he slammed the window down after Swanepoel leaned on the conductor’s windowsill and asked about the train, his attorney Mitchell Kessler said.
A Transit Authority spokesman declined to comment.
