Consolidated to Buy Two Chevys Chains

Consolidated Restaurant Operations Inc. is acquiring two restaurant chains from Chevys Inc. of Emeryville, Calif., for an undisclosed amount. Dallas-based Consolidated will acquire the Chevys Fresh Mex and Fuzio Universal Pasta restaurant chains.

“The addition of Chevys and Fuzio will mean significant growth in system volume for us,” said Bill Watson, vice president of marketing for Consolidated, which has 101 company-owned and 26 franchise restaurants in 18 states, plus Canada. Consolidated said it had sales of $240 million last year.
