Police Probe Charges of Forced Sterilization

Police have launched an investigation into allegations that 110 Gypsy women have been sterilized against their will at hospitals in eastern Slovakia, a police spokesman said.
Four investigators, based in the northern city of Zilina, asked experts at a university in Bratislava, the capital, to analyze whether the sterilizations were needed.
