Rush to judgment?

Re: “Are Liberals Really Ready for Their Own Limbaugh?” (by David Shaw, March 2). Understanding that formal education does not equal intelligence, and understanding that “compassionate conservative” (words do not mean what they once meant anymore) does equal mean-spirited, selfish, greedy and ignorant, it is easy to understand why the Rush Limbaughs and Laura Schlessingers are such moneymakers for the media. It doesn’t take “intelligence” to ignore facts and be mean and uncaring.

The facts are that while we are being “entertained,” we are being kept ignorant of all the freedoms we are losing. But getting those facts is too dry and too boring. Don’t bore me. It’s more fun being cruel and making money dishonestly, no matter the damage it does to our country.

Shaw’s weak attempt to help the liberals try to find the “Anti-Rush” is full of the same old liberal cliches. Allow me to extend a piece of advice to Mr. Shaw and the other Rush haters on the left: Try listening to the show for at least six weeks to get a feel for what he actually says. This might prevent any further writing of the same inaccurate cliches that liberals have been writing about Rush since he has been on the air.
