Re “Ex-Ad Executive Quits Federal Post Pitching America to the World,” March 4: This would be laughable if it weren’t so pathetic and wrongheaded. Of course ads promoting the United States to other countries aren’t working. Look at how we treat the rest of the world! This situation reminds me of a third-grade student I once taught. She would bring big bags of chips to share with kids at recess to try and get them to be her friends. Then when she played with them she would call them names, play unfairly and fight with them. After recess she would come whining to me about how she gave them chips but they didn’t like her!
