More than 120 Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies staged a sickout in courthouses Tuesday over contract negotiations, officials said.
The unofficial job action was apparently connected with the breakdown in contract negotiations between the department and the Assn. for Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriffs, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
Affected by the sickout were Los Angeles Airport Court and Los Angeles Metropolitan Traffic Court, plus courthouses in Beverly Hills, Burbank, Chatsworth, Downey, Glendale, Long Beach and Pasadena, officials said.
About 1,700 deputies work in courthouses.
