1969 Race Riots Case Goes to the Jury

A jury began deliberating in the murder case against two black men in the slaying of a white police officer during race riots that rocked York in 1969.

Stephen Freeland, 51, is accused of firing the bullet that pierced an armored police truck and felled rookie officer Henry Schaad. Leon Wright, 54, is accused of being among a group of black men who fired at the truck.
