Oscar parties a go?

In the face of war, some Oscar party plans were scraped, but all in all, the show looked like it would go on.... GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Assn. Against Defamation) plans to host its first-ever Oscar party at the “here” lounge in WeHo. Celebs are RSVP’ing en masse and this particular bash is to be an all-comers event. Guests can arrive early and partake of Oscar-viewing festivities (tix range from $50 to $100) or show up for the post-show disco dancing. Those tix are only 10 bucks. The info line is (323) 634-2028 or log on to www.glaad.org/events.... So the Oscar party to crash this year might be in the Hollywood Hills. I mean, any Oscar party is worth bamboozling your way into, but if you want to party on Sunday, Supermarket Events is planning to host a whopper of a hillside doozy. For the second year in a row, Supermarket -- an events-film-music-marketing collective made up of partners Brent Bolthouse, Jenifer Rosero, Amanda Scheer-Demme and Dominique Trenier, plans to team up with select bigwigs from the Firm, Endeavor and DreamWorks for what is being touted as the new Swifty Lazar bash. For starters, it’s supposed to be the after-party for the after-parties, beginning at midnight and going till 6 a.m. We hear of plans for an indoor swimming pool; bathing suits are optional (blush). The menu calls for waffles and omelets, and New York DJ Mark Ronson plans to fly in to jump-start the dance floor. The best part for celebs -- Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Matt Damon have said they’ll drop by -- is there’s to be no press, no video cameras and no photos allowed. So for those looking to get jiggy, follow the line of limos.

Oh, those gift bags!

The House of Blues on the Strip is to be the site of an Oscar fund-raiser for Children Uniting Nations, a mentoring program for foster-care and homeless youth. Joined by Rock the Vote and the Creative Coalition, this star-studded event is to start at 5 p.m. and roll till 2 a.m. Tara Reid, NSync’s J.C. Chasez, Jeff Goldblum, Jane Seymour, Anjelica Huston, Alec Baldwin and Carmen Electra are said to be dropping by. Ticket prices begin at $500, and we hear of exceptionally decadent gift bags. For more info, call event producer MacAfrica at (818) 342-2171.... Now through Sunday, the Sunset Room and Le Meridien hotel add new meaning to the phrase “happy hour” by showcasing the Golden Star, a cocktail being touted as the world’s most expensive drink. Party girls Paula Abdul and Paris Hilton hosted bashes for the elixir earlier this week, and we hear it’s a mix of Bacardi O, Gold Leaf, pineapple and pomegranate juices and a splash of soda. Whoa Nelly!.... Vanity Fair’s big Oscar bash at Morton’s Sunday night is still on -- at least for now -- but the pre-party bash Friday night at Koi was canceled Wednesday morning. The chic sushi spot on La Cienega Boulevard is still planning to host a pre-Oscar gala for Focus Features on Saturday night. Eminently crashable.... And if you happen to be an A-lister staying at L’Ermitage, the hotel’s French chef, Bruno Lopez, plans to personally create designer dessert trays with an Oscar motif. Sweet dreams.

Tonight, the tres sexy dance club Skin, held each week at the Garden of Eden on Hollywood Boulevard, plans an Oscars pre-party hosted by Stockholm Kristal vodka.
