Tomahawk Missile Plunges Into Sea
From Times Wire Reports
A Tomahawk cruise missile malfunctioned during U.S.-led strikes on Baghdad, spiraling above the destroyer John S. McCain before plunging into the sea and spitting burning fuel across the water, an officer said. It narrowly missed the ship.
At least 320 Tomahawks were launched from ships and submarines in the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, the military said.
The malfunctioning missile turned in tight circles and suddenly rocketed into the water.
