U.S. Marks End of Mission at Incirlik Base
From Times Wire Reports
The United States shut down its last major military mission in Turkey, saying the defeat of Saddam Hussein ended the need for Turkish-based missions to monitor an Iraqi “no-fly” zone.
At a ceremony marking the end of the mission at Incirlik Air Base, Gen. The base will still house 1,400 U.S. personnel serving in a NATO mission.
