From Times Wire Reports
The State Department added Batasuna, an outlawed Spanish political party, to its list of international terrorist organizations, saying it is an arm of the violent Basque separatist group known as ETA.
The designation enables the U.S. to freeze the organization’s assets in financial institutions, prevents members from entering the U.S. and makes it illegal to contribute money to the group.
ETA, which was already on the State Department’s terrorist list, has been responsible for more than 850 deaths in Spain.
