U.S.-led forces in Iraq have taken a former official of deposed President Saddam Hussein’s Baath Party into custody, the U.S. Central Command said Wednesday.

Ghazi Hamud Adib, the party’s regional chairman in the Al Kut district, is in U.S. hands, the command said in a statement.

He was No. 32 on the U.S. list of the 55 most-wanted members of Hussein’s regime, and the two of hearts in the deck of cards issued to help U.S. soldiers identify regime figures.
