Tenet Reports on CEO’s Compensation

Tenet Healthcare Corp. said Chief Executive Jeffrey C.Barbakow hasn’t been given a bonus or options since May 31, 2002, when he received a bonus of $4.2 million, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Since May, Barbakow also waived a lucrative retirement benefit that would have given him credit for two years of service for every year of actual work.

Tenet has been undergoing changes in its management as well as on its board of directors since the Santa Barbara-based hospital chain came under government and investor scrutiny for its Medicare billing and other practices.
