This Family Needs More Room

Good article on McMansions (“Keeping Up With the Jonesing,” by Bill Sharpsteen, April 27), but the writer must be childless. Otherwise he’d understand the allure of a larger house to people like my wife and me, who have three children and one on the way, and are living in (and working from) a 1,311-square-foot house. We dream of extra space not for ego but for the reprieve it offers from the incessant soundtrack of our young ones playing just a few feet away.
