IBM to Unveil New Mainframe Computer

IBM Corp. will unveil a new version of a mainframe computer that could boost revenue and earnings this quarter, analysts briefed on the topic said.
Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM is expected to unveil details of the computer, code-named T-Rex and which goes on sale in mid-June, at a meeting today in San Francisco. The new system has more powerful processors, new memory and an updated version of the operating system.
IBM shares rose $1.45 to $89 on the NYSE.
