Pity the Council Retiree

Re “Bid to Boost Pensions for Council Fails,” May 10: It is unfortunate that Los Angeles City Council members Hal Bernson and Ruth Galanter feel that they are unable to make ends meet on their respective $6,000- and $5,000-a-month city pensions. Perhaps they could utilize their vast experience and become lobbyists to help make Los Angeles a better place to live and supplement their meager incomes at the same time. Or we could all hold monthly bake sales or carwashes to help them make ends meet.
