U.N. Confirms Outbreak of Cholera in Basra

Tests have confirmed an outbreak of cholera in Basra, Iraq’s second-largest city, the World Health Organization said.
WHO spokeswoman Fadela Chaib said tests confirmed the presence of cholera in four samples. Preliminary tests earlier identified 18 probable cases.
She said there had been no confirmed reports of deaths.
