Local Emmy nods share the wealth

Fox Sports Net, KCAL-TV and KNBC-TV received the most nominations for the 55th annual Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards. The sports cable network earned 16 nominations, while local stations KCAL and KNBC earned nine each.

Other stations receiving multiple nominations included KCBS-TV and KTTV-TV with 12 each, and Spanish-language KVEA-TV with 10. The winners will be announced Sept. 6.

George Fischbeck , the former weathercaster for KABC-TV, was chosen to receive the Governors Award for lifetime achievement.
