French commuters had a third day of strike disruptions even as two unions struck a deal with the government over pensions. Transport workers have been striking in opposition to government plans to require them to work more years for full retirement pay. The deal, which would have to be approved by parliament, would leave untouched some pension plans.

The left-leaning Workers’ Force and the Communist-affiliated CGT had refused to take part in the talks and said they would encourage further work stoppages.
