From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Flash floods and landslides killed 141 people in Sri Lanka, and forecasters warned more rain was on the way, state media reported. About 150,000 people who fled their homes are being housed in temples, schools and public buildings, officials said.
The area worst affected was the Ratnapura district, southeast of the capital. Officials said among the dead were 47 people buried when a landslide wiped out a village.
