Stop Development in Lake Arrowhead

Re “The Dissension Flows Freely in Lake Arrowhead,” May 19: The idea of more development around Lake Arrowhead is deplorable. As someone who travels to Arrowhead every year, it hurts me to think about the horrible ecological impact that construction would create. Arrowhead is already facing an increase in domestic water use and, with new development, even more water would need to be extracted from the lake. Given the dryness of the past couple of years and the rather limited snowmelt from this winter, the amount of water is not going to increase any time soon.

New construction would pollute the lake, and it is almost certain that aquatic ecosystems would be degraded. Lake Arrowhead development should be stopped now before Californians lose one of our crown jewels.
