Army Personnel
I find it interesting that the U.S. Army can afford to be so cavalier about deserters, rarely pursuing or punishing them (May 21), yet simultaneously justifies the pursuit, punishment (with dishonorable discharges and requirements of repayment) and expulsion of gays and lesbians who wish to serve. To my mind, these actions raise the question: Which is the true coward, the deserter or the Army that is afraid of its own people?
