Poker Player Bluffs Way to $2.5-Million Jackpot

From Times Wire Reports

Chris “Money” Moneymaker, 27, put down $40 and ultimately walked away with $2.5 million and the title of champion in the 34th annual World Series of Poker. He is the first person to win the Las Vegas tournament by qualifying on the Internet.

“I bluffed a lot,” he said, “but somehow I got away with it.”

His win is seen as solidifying the merger of the Internet and casinos. Said series media director Nolan Dalla: “This means anyone in their home can become a poker player.”
