Dana Point Man Dies in Head-On Crash
A Dana Point man died Tuesday after the car he was driving crashed head-on with a big rig on Ortega Highway near Antonio Parkway, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident occurred about 10:30 a.m. when Reynaldo Rodriguez, 67, collided with a cement hauler being driven westbound by Ignacio Torres of Lawndale, authorities said.
According to the CHP, Rodriguez’s car was traveling 10 mph above the posted speed limit of 55 mph.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Torres was treated at a nearby hospital for minor injures.
