Weekend box office

Disney’s “Brother Bear” performed better than estimated this weekend, with actual figures coming in slightly higher than Sunday estimates. Among other films, “Radio” held up well, showing in its second week that it could hang on to its audience despite the competition. Other, smaller releases, such as Miramax’s “The Human Stain,” grossed $1 million in 160 theaters, Fox’s re-release of “Alien: The Director’s Cut” grossed $1.3 million in 336 theaters. “Die, Mommie, Die” had a three-day gross of $54,129 on 10 screens.
