Gen. Teodoro Campo, commander of Colombia’s U.S.-backed police, resigned amid an anti-corruption shake-up, the government said. Four other top generals of the national police, which has been a principal beneficiary of more than $2 billion in U.S. military aid in recent years, were removed from their posts.

This year, an army general and a regional police commander were fired amid allegations that their officers took $1 million in bribes.
