Two stakes races for paints are the main events on tonight’s card.

Cha Cha Chickie, a 3-year-old Easy Jet Too filly who has won eight of 11, heads the field in the $23,300 Starburst Derby, and 10 2-year-olds will get together in the $49,450 Starburst Futurity.

Owned by Robin Moraga and trainer Connie Hall, Cha Cha Chickie has not been worse than second in her career and will go over $100,000 in career earnings with a finish in the top two. Ramon Sanchez will ride the California-bred.

In the Futurity, which like the Derby is run at 350 yards, unbeaten Boy Of Summer will try for his third consecutive win against Carols Treasure, Keep Him, Lady Corona, Some Kinda First, Acoloredlady, Reckless Judy, Lile By By, Beaded Lace and Azures Meteor.
