Enron’s Bankruptcy Costs May Top $1 Billion

Failed energy giant Enron Corp. said its legal, accounting and other professional costs since filing for bankruptcy protection might top $1 billion by the end of 2006.
Enron already has exceeded $514 million in legal, professional and accounting fees, including billings from more than three dozen law firms and several accounting and consulting firms since the company filed for reorganization Dec. 2, 2001, said the Texas attorney general’s office.
