Yahoo Inc. agreed to inform customers that they can opt out of marketing e-mails in a settlement with New York.

The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based firm will tell customers they can remove themselves from lists for e-mails that advertise services provided by the company and products by its marketing partners, New York Atty. Gen. Eliot Spitzer said.
