Reinstated Ballerina Lays Down Rules

The Russian ballerina fired from Moscow’s Bolshoi Theater amid allegations she had become too heavy to lift insisted Friday that she would return to the job only if given starring roles.
The Bolshoi fired Anastasia Volochkova, one of its leading dancers and a celebrity in Russia, after a contract dispute and amid the allegations she was too heavy. Volochkova, who weighs about 110 pounds and is 5 feet 6 inches tall, challenged the decision, and Russia’s Labor Ministry this week ordered her reinstated.
