3 Ex-Army Officers Held in Atrocities Probe

Three former army officers were detained in Argentina’s investigation of atrocities committed during its 1976-83 military dictatorship. Retired Brig. Gen. Hector Gamin and two retired colonels, Pedro Duran Saenz and Alberto Barda, were arrested on the request of a judge probing the torture and killing of thousands of people during the campaign against suspected government opponents.
