Yum Profit Rises 12%, Boosts Forecast

Yum Brands Inc., the operator of the Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut restaurant chains, said fiscal third-quarter earnings rose 12% as sales climbed overseas.

Net income increased to $164 million, or 53 cents a share, from $147 million, or 47 cents, a year earlier, the Louisville, Ky.-based company said. Revenue rose 3.9% to $1.99 billion.

Shares of Yum rose 34 cents to $31.57 on the NYSE.
