Dialysis Reportedly Considered for Pope

Doctors of Pope John Paul II were considering putting the pontiff on kidney dialysis to cleanse his body of drugs he was taking for Parkinson’s disease, an Italian news agency said.
A Vatican official said the report by AGI “seemed correct” but offered no details. Later, papal spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls denied the pope was undergoing dialysis.
