Teacher’s thanks

My name is Wendi Jordan, and I am a high school literature teacher at St. Bernard High School in Playa del Rey.

Every Monday, I try to bring in the Calendar section and share reviews or articles written about musicians. Our youth is one that thrives, lives and breathes music. It is important that they are exposed to all genres of music. Plus, the students like to see their teachers are up on popular culture. I was taken aback when I read Robert Hilburn’s beautiful article on the group OutKast (“Alone Together,” Sept. 21).

I remember being in high school myself when their first album debuted, and I have been a fan ever since. I am so excited to go into class and share this with my students.
