From Times Wire Reports

An unidentified man survived a plunge over Niagara Falls in street clothes and with no safety device, witnesses said, becoming the first person known to have done so.

The man went head-first over the churning 180-foot Canadian Horseshoe Falls and then pulled himself out of the water below. Police led him away and later said foul play was not suspected.

Witness Lynda Satelmajer of Ontario said: “It was really freaky, actually. He was smiling.”
