FDA Warns Doctors About Antidepressants

From Times Wire Reports

Concerned about studies showing that some antidepressant drugs may lead some children to suicidal behavior, the Food and Drug Administration issued a public health advisory telling doctors to take care in prescribing them.

The agency, which has been overseeing studies on the effects of some popular antidepressants on children, said the data does not clearly establish an association between the drugs and suicide.

But it also said that an increase in suicidal behavior in young people taking the drugs cannot be ruled out.
