From Times Wire Reports

Israeli police questioned Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for seven hours about political fund-raising cases. One involves a $1.5-million loan used as collateral to repay what authorities found to have been illegal contributions to Sharon’s campaign for election as Likud Party chief in 1999.

Another case revolves around what police say was a bid by a developer to buy a Greek resort island with the help of Sharon, then foreign minister, by employing his son and donating to his campaign. Sharon has denied any wrongdoing.
