Convicted rapist Andrew Luster remains unable to challenge his guilty verdicts after the California Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected his request to take up his case.

It was Luster’s last chance at the state level to regain his appeal rights, which a state appeals court had ruled were forfeited in January when Luster fled his Ventura County trial and hid out in a Mexican beach resort town.

Roger Diamond, Luster’s Santa Monica attorney, said he would file a petition to the U.S. Supreme Court within 90 days, seeking a reversal of the state appellate court ruling.
