State OKs Plans for New Power Plant

The Municipal Utility District has won state approval for its largest power plant since it built the Rancho Seco nuclear generating station.
The 500-megawatt natural-gas-fueled plant will occupy the site of the long-closed Rancho Seco plant in south Sacramento County. The district expects federal approval within 45 days.
